Fittonia Red Flame

Fittonia ‘Red Flame’ is a vibrant nerve plant variety prized for its deep green leaves veined with bright, fiery red. The contrast between the rich foliage and vivid vein pattern makes it an eye-catching choice for terrariums, small planters, or as a colorful accent plant indoors. With its low, spreading growth habit, this variety forms a dense carpet of foliage over time.

Typically staying under 6 inches tall, Fittonia ‘Red Flame’ spreads outward as it matures, making it ideal for ground cover in terrariums or grouped displays. It grows best in bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower light settings, though colors will appear strongest with more consistent light.

This plant prefers evenly moist soil and higher humidity to maintain its fresh, vibrant leaves. A well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture is ideal, and watering should be done as soon as the soil surface begins to dry. Misting or placing the plant near a humidifier will help keep leaves from drying or curling. Light feeding during the growing season will encourage steady growth and strong coloration.
