Philodendron Birkin
Philodendron Birkin is a compact, self-heading variety admired for its bold white pinstripes running across deep green, glossy leaves. As it matures, the variegation develops more strongly, giving each leaf a unique pattern that ranges from fine lines to broader streaks of white. New leaves often emerge bright and develop their stripes as they harden off, adding to the plant’s evolving appearance.
This philodendron grows upright in a rosette form, staying manageable in size and making it an excellent choice for desktops, tabletops, and smaller spaces. With time, it can reach 1–2 feet tall, producing dense clusters of patterned foliage.
Birkin thrives in bright, indirect light, which keeps the variegation crisp and prevents the leaves from turning solid green. Use a chunky, well-draining potting mix, and water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Average household humidity is tolerated, but moderate to high humidity will keep the foliage at its best. Fertilize lightly during the growing season to encourage steady growth and vivid striping.
All of our plants are propagated and tissue cultured here in the USA in our home lab, ensuring clean, healthy, and carefully grown specimens.
