Philodendron ‘Red Sun’ is a striking self-heading hybrid admired for its vivid foliage that shifts in color as it matures. New leaves emerge in shades of bright red to orange-red, creating a fiery contrast against the older foliage, which settles into glossy deep green. The blend of colors gives the plant a dynamic, ever-changing appearance that stands out in any collection.

This variety forms a compact, upright rosette and remains easy to manage indoors, making it well-suited for desks, tabletops, or floor planters. Over time, it develops into a medium-sized specimen with dense, colorful foliage that requires little maintenance.

It thrives in bright, indirect light, which enhances its red tones, though it will adapt to medium light. Plant in a chunky, well-draining soil mix and water when the top inch of soil begins to dry. Average household humidity is tolerated, but moderate humidity will keep the foliage looking its best. Fertilize lightly during the growing season to encourage steady growth and vibrant new leaves.
